Dam Ha boasts advantages such as vast sea space, pristine landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and a community deeply connected to the sea. This serves as a foundation for the locality to develop diverse and experience-rich island and marine ecotourism.

Da Dung Island Ecotourism Area is a prominent tourist destination in Dam Ha. In June 2025, the island was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as an ecotourism spot, thereby creating a basis for exploiting its landscape and natural values in conjunction with experiential and slow tourism. Da Dung Island features infrastructure and architecture that harmonize with the natural scenery, aiming for a secluded ecotourism resort model with limited accommodation and a focus on high-end experiences. The secluded space and island-side ecosystem are suitable for activities such as boat trips to explore the sea, kayaking, fishing, enjoying seafood, and experiencing the life of coastal residents.

Concurrently, Dam Ha is actively calling for investment in the Nui Cuong Island Tourist Area Project. The project spans nearly 1,080ha, with over 670ha designated for planning and the remainder for research to enhance forest and marine values. The tourist area aims to feature a golf course, resorts combined with surrounding aquaculture development. The projected population is approximately 7,800 people by 2030, reaching 20,000 by 2045. The surrounding secluded islands will develop resort villages with diverse experiential offerings, linked to the conservation of mangrove forest ecosystems.

Planning perspective of Nui Cuong Island.

In Dam Ha's orientation, marine tourism is also closely linked to the lives and production practices of its people. Currently, the commune is collaborating with businesses to develop a project for an ecotourism area combined with aquaculture on Van Vuoc Island. The island is located in Xom Giao hamlet, 4km from the mainland. With a planned area of 147ha, Van Vuoc aims to become an experience zone combining forest and sea.

To expand tourism space and enhance visitor experiences, Dam Ha is developing a route connecting the sea with the mainland. Accordingly, the resort space will be expanded, allowing tourists to visit mainland heritage sites such as Dam Ha communal house, experience the Dam Ha communal house festival, and learn about "Hat Nha To - Hat, Mua Cua Dinh" (singing and dancing at the communal house gate). These are two nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage sites of the commune; simultaneously, the route connects with Trang Y communal house and a system of ranked historical relics. Notably, Dam Ha is home to People's Artist Dang Thi Tu, who is likened to a "living dictionary" of "Hat Nha To - Hat, Mua Cua Dinh." The essence of the elderly artisan's lifelong dedication to preserving traditional songs is an invaluable asset for the commune to build its heritage tourism narrative.

According to commune statistics, in the first 7 months of 2026, Dam Ha welcomed approximately 39,000 visitors, achieving 65% of the provincial annual target. This result indicates that tourism is gradually becoming a development direction with significant potential, and also serves as a basis for the commune to continue shaping appropriate strategies and more effectively exploiting its existing potential.

Mr. Le Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Culture - Society Department of Dam Ha commune, stated: In the short term, the commune will focus on effectively exploiting tourism on Da Dung Island, promoting the value of the Nui Hua Archaeological - Historical - Scenic Relic Area, and striving to welcome over 60,000 visitors in 2026. In the long term, Dam Ha prioritizes completing infrastructure, calling for investment in Nui Cuong Island and Van Vuoc Island tourist areas, connecting tourist spots and marine economic zones; developing cultural and culinary spaces; and strengthening links with major provincial tourism centers, thereby making Dam Ha a unique marine ecotourism destination.
