At the conference, Sun PhuQuoc Airways leaders officially announced the launch of the Dong Hoi - Cam Ranh round-trip route starting August 16th, using Airbus A320 NEO aircraft (capacity of approximately 200 passengers per flight). The route will operate three round-trip flights per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight from Dong Hoi departs at 12:05 PM and arrives in Cam Ranh at 1:25 PM; the return flight departs from Cam Ranh at 2:05 PM and arrives in Dong Hoi at 3:30 PM.
The Dong Hoi - Cam Ranh round-trip flight route opens up opportunities for Quang Tri tourism to reach high-spending tourists from southern provinces, especially international visitors, through Cam Ranh International Airport. This is also a crucial link connecting Quang Tri with Khanh Hoa and other localities in the region, jointly building a unique tourism product exploring the "Central Vietnam Heritage Route" - a multi-experience journey connecting Khanh Hoa's beach and resort tourism with Quang Tri's historical, cultural, and ecological values, thereby contributing to extending the length of stay and increasing spending of tourists. In the initial sales phase, the Dong Hoi - Cam Ranh route has been positively received by the market with nearly 1,000 bookings, and the occupancy rate continues to increase, demonstrating the growing demand for connectivity between the two destinations. The opening of this flight route is seen as the first step in preparing for the series of activities for the Quang Tri National Tourism Year 2027, aiming to make Quang Tri a tourism hub of Vietnam in the future.
