On the afternoon of August 5, at the InterContinental Halong Bay Resort (Bai Chay ward), the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with relevant departments, sectors, and localities to hold a press conference providing information about the Miss World 2026 pageant.

At the press conference, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism provided information on Quang Ninh's preparations in coordinating the organization of the opening ceremony and opening activities within the framework of the pageant, as well as the schedule and activities of the 73rd Miss World 2026 in Quang Ninh from August 8-12, 2026; and the companionship and coordination of businesses in the province in organizing the pageant.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh Province, informed the press conference about the preparations of Quang Ninh Province in coordinating the organization of the opening ceremony and opening activities within the framework of the Miss World 2026 pageant.

Miss World 2026 is the 75th anniversary edition of one of the world's oldest and most prestigious beauty pageants, and marks the first time Vietnam has been selected as the host country. The event will take place from August 8 to September 5 in 3 localities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Khanh Hoa, with the participation of nearly 120 contestants from countries and territories.

Representing the host country Vietnam in this year's competition is Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc. Born in 2001, the beauty from Can Tho possesses an impressive height of 1.86m along with excellent academic qualifications and foreign language skills. She won the title of 1st Runner-up of Miss World Vietnam 2022 and was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2022.

In Quang Ninh, a series of opening activities of Miss World 2026 will take place, including: Welcoming Miss World contestants to Quang Ninh; welcome party; social welfare activities; opening ceremony; sightseeing program of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay.

Within the framework of the activities, contestants will participate in experiencing and exploring Quang Ninh's tourist attractions by double-decker bus; experiencing traditional triple-plank boats (thuyền ba vách) on Ha Long Bay - a new typical tourism product of Quang Ninh, and many communication activities to promote the image of Quang Ninh's culture and tourism on domestic and international media platforms.

The highlight of the series of events in Quang Ninh is the opening program 'Welcome Miss World to Quang Ninh - Vietnam', scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on August 11, 2026, at Ha Long Marina Beach Square (Bai Chay ward) with a scale of 10,000 delegates, residents, and tourists.

The program is staged on a grand scale, in a modern style, combining performing arts, sound, and light with traditional Vietnamese cultural values. The highlight of the program is the Ao Dai performance by all contestants, contributing to honoring the beauty of traditional culture, while spreading the image of a friendly and identity-rich Vietnam to the international community.

The opening ceremony will be attended by and feature welcoming speeches from leaders of Quang Ninh Province, leaders of the Miss World Organization, and the Organizing Committee of the pageant in Vietnam, affirming the determination to successfully organize a cultural, tourism, and foreign affairs event of international scale.

The program will be broadcast live and livestreamed on the platforms of Quang Ninh Newspaper and Radio-Television, relayed to several localities across the country, and broadcast on the digital platforms of Miss World and Miss World Vietnam.

Up to now, relevant departments, boards, sectors, localities, units, and businesses of Quang Ninh Province are actively coordinating with the Organizing Committee to implement tasks according to the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee. Preparations are being carried out synchronously across fields, finalizing program content, reception - foreign affairs, communication, logistics, security...

Agencies and units are coordinating closely with the Organizing Committee to review scripts, finalize organizational plans, strengthen propaganda and promotion, and get ready for activities taking place in Quang Ninh Province.
